THE WHAT? Inter Parfums has announced that it has entered into an exclusive worldwide fragrance license for the Roberto Cavalli brand, effective immediately. The Cavalli fragrance business will be managed from Inter Parfums Italia’s office in Florence, in keeping with the company’s strategy to develop an Italian brand hub.
THE DETAILS The license was previously held by Coty and is thought to be worth some US$40 million globally, according to a report published by WWD. The first products to emerge from the new agreement will be line extensions to the existing scents followed by a brand new blockbuster in 2025.
THE WHY? Jean Madar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Inter Parfums, reveals, “We are enthusiastic about the potential of our partnership with Cavalli and its creative director, Fausto Puglisi. We will modernize and elevate the fragrance portfolio, build out a powerful global brand presence along with a robust omni-channel reach, strengthening visibility and improve shelf space. Our current plans call for brand extensions in 2024 and a new blockbuster scent for women in 2025. It is natural that the Cavalli brand be based in Italy utilizing our Florence resources, staff and infrastructure, which will be a long-term competitive advantage.”
