THE WHAT? Spanish vegan brand, Freshly has unveiled a new refilling system, according to a report published by Vegconomist.
THE DETAILS The initiative will reduce the brand’s carbon footprint by 92 percent, the company said in a statement, per Vegconomist, when compared to glass containers. The refill pouches are said to be made of cardboard and vegetable fibers.
THE WHY? Miquel Antolin, Co-founder and CEO of Freshly, told Vegconomist, “The waste of the cosmetics industry is a huge shame. Although we know that the refill is not a definitive solution to this waste, it is a very important step forward and we are very happy to be able to offer our products to Freshly fans.”
