THE WHAT? LVMH has announced the appointment of Gonzague de Pirey as Chief Omnichannel and Data Officer, effective June 1, according to a report published by WWD.
THE DETAILS de Pirey joins from fellow LVMH-owned firm Sephora where he held the role of Global Senior Vice President, New Ventures. He will takeover from current Chief Omnichannel Officer, Michael David – WWD did not elaborate on David’s future plans.
THE WHY? de Pirey is charged with pushing the broad adoption of data and AI across LVMH’s brand portfolio. Antonio Belloni, Group Managing Director of LVMH stated in an internal memo, seen by WWD, “[de Pirey] has extensive experience in omnichannel business across industries and countries. As the leader of Sephora’s new ventures, he has shown the ability to drive breakthrough initiatives for our customers and business. These assets will be key to accelerate the progress of maisons and regions in leveraging the power of technology and data.”
