THE WHAT? Pierre Fabre has announced the opening of its new dermo-cosmetics innovation and research center in China, its fourth such facility worldwide.
THE DETAILS The China Innovation Center (CIC) is based in Shanghai’s Pudong district and includes a formulation laboratory and a space for consumer testing. It will house a multidisciplinary team composed of scientists, researchers and technicians.
Frédéric Ennabli, CEO Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmetics, explains, “This new innovation center will enable us to be as close as possible to consumers, dermatologists and health professionals, to better study the specificities of Chinese consumer skin and hair, and thus understand which formulas best meet their needs. Finally, the inauguration of this center is emblematic of Pierre Fabre’s attachment to China, we are indeed celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of Eau Thermale Avène in China with the iconic cream for Intolerant Skin which has now become Tolerance Repair.”
THE WHY? The China Innovation Center will strengthen the presence of Fabre’s Eau Thermale Avene, Klorane and Rene Furterer brands in China and guarantee their development on the Asian cosmetics market with its tremendous potential. With an Avène product sold every five seconds, China is one of the main contributors that will enable the marque to become a billion-euro brand by the end of the year.
